When you think about specialist disability accommodation most people would rarely envision a stylish apartment on a sparkling coastline. But that is now a real possibility with Ability SDA announcing their newest project in Showground Road, Gosford.
“The Central Coast is a beautiful place to live, with pristine beaches, fantastic services and plenty of public attractions. Our first development here was met with such overwhelming demand, we knew we had to provide more specialist disability accommodation in this area” said Paul Simmons, Co-Director of Ability SDA.
Close to transport, shops and amenities, the 6 storey, 34 apartment residential building includes 10 High Physical Support SDA apartments.
“Our aim is to provide quality housing that is centrally located, completely accessible and specifically designed for high physical supports needs tenants,” said Paul.
Due for completion mid 2020, each self-contained, 2 bedroom apartment is large and bright with modern fixtures and fittings. Other features include wide doorways, Assistive Technology, accessible ensuites, car parks and storage cages.
A highlight of each apartment are the spacious terraces which will allow residents to entertain family and friends, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of their very own outdoor area.
The safety and care of residents is of the highest standard, with the development being fully secure with lift access to all levels. 24 hour care can be provided by the onsite support team which is accommodated in the building, as well as the option of bringing in a personal team of carers if required.
“We want all our residents to feel safe and secure, in affordable accommodation that allows them more choice and freedom,” added Paul.
With the fully accessible Gosford Railway Station, the CBD and waterfront nearby, residents will never be short of things to do.
If you’d like to know more, Ability SDA is hosting an information session at 10am on Wednesday 12th February at the Central Coast Leagues Club and will be available to answer questions.
Participants, family, advocates and Support Co-ordinators are invited to hear about what SDA is, how it works and how to access funding.
